Our story

Here’s a chronological time-line of Tusler-Design’s story so far…

2008 – present

The focus tends to be on commercial work nowadays but we do some charitable and mentoring work as well to keep a healthy balance.

Lot of music making in spare time.

Take a look at the portfolio to see some examples.

2006-2007

Worked for Pembrokeshire Association for Voluntary Services (PAVS) as community website developer.

Commercial work on hold at this time.

2004

Loved making and developing the first Atmarama.co.uk website in 2004 and ’05. Originally created for the Mind, Body Spirit Festival in Portsmouth, this was a complete new direction and featured UK mind, body and spirit event listings, information pages on many alternative therapies and approaches to life. There was an a-to-z of healing crystals with detailed photographs. This site was closed and the domain passed to a happy new owner who was actually called ‘Atmarama’.

2002

Had the privilege of designing the first ISKCON.com and helping with DeityWorship.com in 2001 and 2002.  These web sites have grown up and followed their own evolution to the point that ISKCON.com became a full-fledged news website in 2004.

From 2001 up to 2007 worked with the Oxford Center for Hindu Studies (a recognized center of the University of Oxford). Along with designing and developing the website and content management system Tusler Design were involved in creating the fund development programme. This is now run and managed entirely by OCHS in-house staff.

2001

Coolest site of the early 21st century had to be ‘Where’s My Hair Productions’. This underground music label based in Southsea presented a hotbed of talent featuring some signed and some un-signed DJs, artists and producers on a series of CD releases. This one is gone now 🙁

Made the first Rathayatra UK website in 2001 and really happy to be still involved with the site and the event in central London. This website has evolved from a basic information and picture archive to its second-generation content management system. Users can volunteer, donate or link to the Facebook page.

2000

Another early highlight was making the first IsItVeggie.com website. This site had up-to-date listings of the food manufacturers and supermarkets and showed which products were vegetarian and vegan. It took about a year to develop and some companies were more helpful than others. At the end of 2001 the site had 30,000 page impressions a month – quite something for the time. It still exists.

1999

My first big website was for ‘Mantradance’. It was a website promoting the dance events that were taking place in North London at the end of the ’90s. The site featured DJ profiles, photos, audio download and even some video. Also made a couple of Flash based audio-mixing games for the site. Within the site were sections on the way the events were themed and a blog section for keeping up to date. Pretty revolutionary at the time.

Portfolio has examples of our work.
